Our Drywall Repair Process - The Right Way to a Perfect Wall

Repairing drywall properly is a skill that requires patience and practice. Here is our straightforward approach:

We identify the scope of the repair, protect your floors and furniture, and remove any loose debris from the hole or crack.

For a small hole, we often use spackling or a putty knife to fill the defect. For larger damage, we cut a precise rectangle around the area, sometimes adding new wood backing for support. We then attach the drywall patch securely.

We apply joint tape to cover the seams of the new piece. Using a wide knife, we apply several thin coats of joint compound (or mud), feathering the edge out onto the surrounding wall to make the repair invisible.

We allow each coat to become completely dry before applying the next. Once the final coat is set, we sand the area with fine-grit sandpaper until it is perfectly smooth to the touch.

The final, crucial step is to prime the repaired area. This seals the joint compound and ensures your new paint will have an even, beautiful sheen without any flashing or dull spots.
